Join our team!

Join us in building the working world of tomorrow and creating spaces where people can work independently, meaningfully, efficiently, and autonomously.

We work in a self-organized manner and are continuously developing ourselves further. Our flat hierarchies enable close exchange on an equal footing. We are a “RemotePlus Company”: Usually you can choose for yourself whether you prefer to work from home, remotely in another EU country, or in one of our offices.

So, how does that sound?

Matrix Developers & DevOps/Operations (m/f/d) — remote, EU

We build Matrix-based applications and help organisations run Matrix at scale: public sector, healthcare, enterprise. We take on projects that grow the Matrix Universe. NeoBoard and the NeoToolSuite are ours, we do Jitsi in enterprise settings, and we contribute to openDesk. If you’re part of the Matrix community, you may know us from the NeoBoard updates in TWIM or from Matrix and open source conferences.

One dev and one ops role are open right now, with more following as new projects start — worth getting in touch even if your timing is off. It’s a match if you tick two boxes in either list.

Matrix Development

  • You’re active in the Matrix universe: MSCs, OSS, Matrix projects
  • You’ve built clients, bridges, application services, bots or widgets
  • You develop in Rust, TypeScript, Python, Kotlin or Swift
  • Nice to have: React experience
  • Nice to have: hands-on cryptography experience

Operations & DevOps

  • You run Matrix homeservers in production
  • Kubernetes, Docker, monitoring, logging, GitOps, CI/CD
  • You analyse, define and automate operational processes, so that running things stays boring
  • You design system architecture — for Matrix deployments and for Kubernetes-based OSS stacks generally

How we work

Self-organised teams, flat hierarchies, a lot of pairing. We work in English internally — German is a plus for customer-facing work, but it’s not a requirement.
